As of September 2017, there were 190600 public charging piles under construction and operation in China, an increase of 44253 over the end of 2016.

As of September 2017, the top ten public charging piles owned by provincial administrative regions were 26990 in Beijing, 26340 in Guangdong, 23516 in Shanghai, 20417 in Jiangsu, 16210 in Shandong, 9495 in Anhui, 9258 in Hebei, 8626 in Tianjin, 7804 in Zhejiang and 5557 in Hubei.
