Charger Standard and Certification Method

    Special standard for chargers, there is no special standard for chargers before, eu chargers take EN60950 as the standard, and American chargers have UL60950 as the standard, but the actual 60950 is the power adapter standard, not the standard for chargers, because there is no standard, so manufacturers refer to the 60950 adapter standard. However, the eu and the United States have listed the latest standards for chargers. The EU chargers are divided into two parts: EN60335-2-29 standard for those below 42V, 60335-1 standard for those above 42V, and 1012 standard for chargers in the United States.


    Charger Standard and Certification Method


    In the certification process, Europe and America have similar requirements for charger testing. Take the American 1012 charger applied by our company as an example: The applied power range is about 400W, 1-20 series of terpolymer lithium battery chargers are 4.2V-84V, 1-20 series of lithium iron phosphate chargers are 3.65V-73V, and 1-6 series of lead acid battery chargers are 14.6V-87V. During the certification process, two groups of each series of batteries should be provided for certification tests. A total of nearly 100 batteries of various types are required for testing, and 60 chargers are required for sampling testing.


    400W charger features: use environment -29° -50 °, no fan fully enclosed design, efficiency up to 95%, PFC > 0.95, pure PC plastic shell, double insulation design, products belong to the second type of power supply, no grounding, life up to 30,000 hours at least, product warranty for 3 years, safer and more reliable.


    And the same power, the design of the shell with fans, low conversion efficiency, up to 85%, the product fever is serious, so you need to fan heat dissipation, but the life of the fan is 2-3000 hours, the service life of this kind of product completely depends on the life of the fan, fan is bad, the charger is bad, and there are gaps between fan, dust, vapor can go in, Very easy to cause short circuit, high requirements for the use of the environment, the metal shell of the product, belongs to a class of power supply, need grounding, safety, reliability is not assured.
